In this production on the theme of playing cards, ECM+ presents three new concertos featuring five exceptional soloists: Mark Fewer (violin), Xenia Pestova and Pascal Meyer (two pianos), Stéphane Beaulac (trumpet), and Jean-Michel Malouf (trombone). Under the direction of Véronique Lacroix, these “Five Aces” will engage in a dialogue with fifteen other ECM+ musicians – a musical journey that visits medieval splendour and the virtuosity of new works, against the backdrop of an illuminated scenario created by the videographers of Foumalade and period music specialist Matthias Maute.
