SHOW DESCRIPTION

The Ensemble contemporain de Montréal honour American composer and creator John Cage with a happening, a fragmented concert/spectacle recreating the famous MusiCircuses beloved by the composer.

Lasting about 4 hours, the event will run on two parallel tracks with three concert segments alternating with three musiCircuses. Three of Cage’s works will be paired with three creations by Quebec composers Jean Lesage, Alain Beauchesne and André Villeneuve, with some pieces performed in superimposition (Concert II). Guest artists will include the soloists, pianists Brigitte Poulin, Marc Couroux and André Ristic, the Quatuor Bozzini, and a dozen multidisciplinary artists with dazzling performance pieces and installations.
