ECM+ and coproducer MNM Festival present an encore of last year’s jam-packed Xenakis Extremis. The programme includes a breathtaking performance by percussionist Olivier Maranda, who shows off new playing techniques for Iannis Xenakis’ Psappha and Rebonds, considered « unplayable ». Mycenae Alpha a visual and electroacoustic work completes the first half of the concert. Baritone Vincent Ranallo joins Maranda for an eerie interpretation of Kassandra and the duo concludes with Gabriel Dufour-Laperrière’s Peindre le cri. This highly virtuosic evening is subtly staged by Alice Ronfard.
